Every operating system since UNIX is instruction-directed: you tell the machine what to do. rawos is goal-directed. It observes your work, builds a model of what you are trying to accomplish, and acts toward that goal — without being asked.

The research claim: a system with a working theory of user intent can complete tasks that are computationally impossible without one, because the goal was never stated.
